So, I'm entering my window for the channel swim, it really started to hit home on Friday when my work started its 2 week summer break. Everyone kept wishing me well, and each time I kept thinking, ‘oh, yeah, I'm supposed to be swimming the English Channel next week’. My last swim was Sunday morning and it was rather windy, a surprisingly tough swim considering it was only 4km. There may have been a bird and fish incident on the way, but that's not what this post is about. Sorry to all those that like to hear my nature stories, this one is about waiting...
It is currently too windy in the channel for a swimmer, so while the window is currently open I can't go just yet. My swim is looking like it will be at the weekend, but we all know how dependable the weather forecast is and this is the UK after all. Till then I will be sitting at home, resting, waiting for that call.
Waiting, watching the weather, waiting and then waiting some more. I've entered the period of uncertainty where I just have to wait and hope that the weather will be kind. If it isn't I'll go on to a waiting list and will have to wait some more.
I hate waiting...
I'll let you know more when I do! If you are really lucky I’ll tell you about the bird and the fish, till then you will just have to wait like me.
